John and I were good friends, particularly when we served together in 653 Squadron in Aden in 1963. John and I spent a memorable three weeks on leave in Kenya during that summer. This was a most interesting and exciting time as we were able to travel all over Kenya, largely courtesy of 8 Flight AAC who were based in Nairobi, John may have mentioned this leave to you. My own memories are of the extraordinary hospitality that we received from the locals as well as the very enjoyable company of John during this fascinating period.
